Tabanus sp. (March or horse fly) - large stout fly with large eyes and short 3 segmental antennae, only female flies bite humans, severe biters. f. Tabanidae. Measurements are vital for id of parasites. Adult diptera killed with chloroform and pinned dry and examined with hand lens or stereo microscope.
