Registration fees do not include accommodation. It is the responsibility of the conference delegate to book and pay for their own conference accommodation, please refer to the Advice page for accommodation options.
Conference Registration Fees
Full conference registration fees are quoted in Australian dollars and include: entrance to all sessions; the evening Welcome Reception on Monday 26 August 2024; lunches, and morning and afternoon teas from Tuesday 27 August 2024 – Thursday 29 August, 2024 and the Conference Dinner on Thursday evening 29 August 2024. Single day registration includes morning and afternoon tea, lunch and admission to the evening event programmed for that day (if there is one scheduled). Extra guest tickets to evening functions for accompanying persons can be purchased at extra cost.
Please note that the Australian Society for Parasitology advises all Parasites in the Pacific 2024 Conference attendees attending this conference in person who are over 16 years of age (includes delegates, speakers, volunteers and any other persons who will be physically attending any conference events) that they should be fully vaccinated with an up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19 and any other relevant vaccines.

If delegates are unable to attend due to COVID-19 or something else that stops them from being able to attend in person delegates will be able to watch the sessions live-streamed online. The sessions will not be recorded.
#Day Registration is available online and Day Delegate rate is $AUD 350 (regular delegates) or $AUD 220 (student/retiree delgates) per day. Single day registration includes morning and afternoon tea, lunch and admission to the evening event programmed for that day (if there is one scheduled).

Accompanying persons
If you are bringing guests and would like them to attend the evening functions with you please purchase extra guest tickets when registering for the conference. We advise that guests over 16 years of age be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Online registration and payment
We are pleased to offer conference delegates the option of secure online credit card payment through Paypal when registering online for the conference. Payment by direct bank transfer is also an option. All registration must be online, please contact Lisa with any queries: Lisa.Jones1@jcu.edu.au
Cancellation policy
Cancellation of registration must be notified in writing to the Conference Coordinator, Lisa Jones (lisa.jones1@jcu.edu.au). Cancellation of registration received by 26 May 2024 will receive a refund of the registration fee minus any banking transaction charges.
If you cancel your registration after:
- 26 May 2024 you’ll receive 75% refund
- 14 July 2024 you’ll receive 50% refund
- 11 August 2024 you’ll receive no refund
- If you fail to turn up to the conference you’ll receive no refund
Conference delegates will be able to watch the Parasites in the Pacific 2024 Conference sessions online if they can not make the conference in person but still wish to attend. Presentations will be live-streamed only, they will not be recorded and there will not be an option to watch presentations later. Contact the conference coordinator to discuss this option.
Payments will be refunded if the conference is cancelled by the organiser. Registrations remain valid if the conference has to be postponed. Refunds will be issued by bank transfer and may take up to a month to process. Please note that these fees reflect the cancellation fees imposed on the ASP by the venue and caterers.

Insurance
Registration does not include insurance of any kind. Delegates should arrange their own insurance when booking registration and travel. Please check if the policy excludes cover for epidemics, pandemics and infectious diseases. The Australian Society for Parasitology Inc. and Conference organisers will take no responsibility for personal injury, death, loss of property, or damage caused by participants, however caused or arising.
