This year we are introducing three new events into the program:
Lunch bites! This year we will run a short (20 minute) lunchtime session on each day of the conference called “Lunch Bites” where your ASP mentors will run an informative and interactive skills-based session to find out “How to deliver an Elevator Pitch about your science”, “Interacting with the media when you are not sure how”, and “Turning science ideas into products – where to start?” Join Graham Mitchell AO, Sarah Preston, Hayley Bullen, Alex Loukas, Vern Bowles, Clare Anstead and Lisa Jones at the very first series of Lunch bites.
Outreach: We will be running a Veterinary Parasitology Day at the 2025 ASP Annual Conference on Tuesday 1 July, 2025, 10:30am – 3:30pm for two 90 minute conference sessions on Pet Parasites and Livestock Parasites, followed by a discussion with the researchers. See details of this outreach event on the conference website https://www.parasite.org.au/aspconference/workshops-and-events/
As part of the 2025 ASP Annual Conference we will run a Women in Parasitology Mentorship Day program prior to the Conference. Coach, mentor and educator Melissa Rosenthal will help develop communication skills in negotiation and the day will close with a careers panel discussion with Professor Leann Tilley, The University of Melbourne; Professor Karena Waller, The University of Melbourne; Professor Shookofeh Shamsi, Charles Sturt University; Professor Tania De-koning Ward, Deakin University; and Dr Simona John von Freyend, PTNG Scientific, and Lisa Jones, ASP.
And of course all of the regular events that make up the ASP Annual Conference.
Looking forward to seeing many of you in Melbourne!
